'Every Gujarati is Elon Musk': Man keeps food outside in cold to save on electricity bill in Canada

We have come across enough stories where people with their creativity and 'jugaad' have fixed things. In a now viral video, a man living in Canada has shown his friend's 'jugaad' of saving money on electricity.

A content creator named Kabir recently took to his Instagram to show how his friend prevent food from getting stale, without using the fridge.

"Canada desh hai mehnga par hum hai Gujarati. Duniya ko idhar udhar hone denge par budget ko nahi (Canada is expensive but we are Gujarati. We won't let our budget get affected by anything)," he says in the video.

He then shares what his friend does to reduce electricity bill. In the video, his friend can be seen asking him if he would like a cup of tea, and then asks him to grab some milk. The creator friend then opens the door of the fridge just to see it being empty.

The friend tells him to open another door that leads to the balcony. After opening, to his surprise the friend sees all the food including milk, kept outside in the cold, in -15-degree Celsius temperature outside.

"Every Gujarati is Elon Musk," the creator friend says after being astound by his 'jugaad'.

The video since posted has garnered over 56k likes and a flurry of comments, many laughing off and praising the idea. However, some pointed out on the drawbacks of it.

"That's called neighbourhood nuisance. This kind of act attracts wild animals. Some people use garage for same purpose in winter but please don't make neighbourhood dirty by openly leaving food outside," a user commented.

"Can also attack homeless people or wild animals," another commented.

A third user wrote, "You'll know better when raccoons come!"

"Hope the racoons are not salivating in your food, one case of rabies might run many times the price of electricity," wrote a fourth.

"Instead, Elon Musk is like a Guajarati," commented a fifth.
