Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that India will no longer overlook Pakistan-sponsored terrorist actions as mere acts of proxy war. Citing "Operation Sindoor" launched on May 7 that struck terrorist camps deep inside the neighbouring country, Modi said that Pakistan's terror activities are part of a "well-thought-out strategy which will be responded to in the same language".

"Till now, we used to call it proxy war, but after the events of May 6, we can't make the mistake of referring to it as proxy war," the prime minister said in Gandhinagar on the last day of a two-day home state visit. The prime minister mentioned pictures of terrorists killed in the "Operation Sindoor" who were given state funerals. He also mentioned how nine terror camps were destroyed in just 22 minutes to avenge the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22.

"The terror attacks can't be called a proxy war anymore because the funerals of these terrorists were accorded state honours. Their coffins had Pakistan's flag and were saluted by the army. It proves that it is a well-thought-out strategy of war. We will respond to them in the same language now," the PM said.
.Modi's 11-year reign as PM will be written in golden letters in history: Amit Shah.
Modi was addressing a gathering in the state capital, Gandhinagar, in an event organised by the civic body. He said that nine identified terrorist camps were eliminated, and with evidence captured through camera, so that "no evidence could be questioned domestically."

The prime minister also recalled the first terror attack in 1947, right after the partition, and said that for the past 75 years, India has suffered horrific terror attacks like the one in Pahalgam. He said that Pakistani militants trained by their army have targeted innocent civilians, including pilgrims, tourists and passengers.

In his speech, Modi also referred to some clauses of the Indus Water Treaty. "If you read the treaty carefully, you will be surprised. It doesn't give us permission to even desilting our dams. For 60 years, the gates of the dam were not opened, because of storage capacity had reduced to 2-3%. Don't we have the right to receive our rightful access to water?" He added that India has only kept the treaty in abeyance, but they (Pakistan) are sweating already.)
