Gulmarg fashion show row: Everything you need to know about designer duo Shivan-Narresh

Shivan & Narresh is known to be India's fist luxury holiday brand that was launched in Cannes at 'Mare di Moda' with its 100% stitch-free swim line.

A row erupted recently after an "obscene" fashion show was held on March 7 at the famous ski-resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir, during the holy month of Ramazan.

The event, which featured provocative outfits and performances, sparked widespread outrage among local religious leaders.

On Monday, Designer duo Shivan and Narresh, who are facing backlash for displaying "obscene" garments at the show, have issued an apology saying they deeply regret any hurt caused their presentation during the holy month of Ramzan.

Following criticism, Shivan & Narresh had posted a statement of apology on their official X page.

Who is designer duo Shivan and Narresh?

The show was hosted by designers Shivan Bhatiya and Narresh Kukreja, marking their 15th anniversary in the industry. The fashion event showcased skiwear collection that had winter layers, apres-ski dresses.

Narresh Kukreja, the co-founder and creative director of Shivan & Narresh holds a bachelor's degree in fashion design from National Institute of Fashion Technology Delhi and Masters in Luxury Marketing & Management from Istituto Europeo di Design.

Shivan Bhatiya, the co-founder and head designer, also holds a bachelor's degree Leather Design, from National Institute of Fashion Technology Delhi and did his master in Fashion & Textile Design from Istituto Europeo di Design.

The duo launched their brand in India with Lakme Fashion Week in the year 2010. Later on, they showcased their brand at Mercedez Benz Swim Week in Maimi, in 2012.
