<p class="title">As many as 42 students of Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management pledged to donate their organs on Wednesday.</p>.<p class="bodytext">“Sahyadri students pledge their organs on occasions like their birthdays or their parents birthdays. This gives them a sense of pride and I can see the joy in them when they get their pledge card,” said Ankith S Kumar, Student Counsellor.</p>.<p class="bodytext">This initiative has helped them celebrate their special days more meaningfully, Kumar added.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The students registered themselves as donors on the National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (NOTTO) portal.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The college under the guidance of its health and counselling centre has taken the initiative to spread awareness and encourage organ donation among students and staff.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Ankith Kumar has motivated 42 students of the college (in one year) to take the pledge to donate organs.
