<p>Mangaluru: The Urwa police arrested an absconding suspect in a shootout case reported at Bejai Bharathi Builders office in 2014. The arrested is Ganesh Lakshman Sakhat from Karad in Maharashtra.</p><p>DCP Crime and Traffic K Ravishankar said that in connection with the shootout allegedly carried out by associates of underworld gangster Ravi Poojary, a case was registered at the Urwa Police Station under Sections 447, 120(b), 307 of the IPC, and Section 27 of the Arms Act.</p><p>One of the suspects, Sakhat, was absconding since 2015 without appearing before the court. A warrant was issued against him by the third JMFC Court in Mangaluru.</p>.Mangaluru woman loses Rs 7.76 lakh in the name of 'Kaun Banega Crorepati'.<p>On the direction of Commissioner of Police Sudheer Kumar Reddy CH , a team led by Urwa Inspector arrested Sakhat in Pandharpur, Maharashtra, and produced him before the court on Sunday, which in turn remanded him in judicial custody.</p><p>The arrested was also wanted in another case registered at Kavoor Police Station under Sections 448, 507, 120(b) read with 34 of the IPC. A warrant was issued against him in that case as well. He was also involved in an Arms Act case in Karad, Satara district, Maharashtra. </p>
