<p>According to police, the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike had sanctioned a borewell point on 16th Cross, BTM Layout and the work was entrusted to a private agency.<br /><br />As the operator of the heavy-duty truck was preparing to start the work and lifted the rig, it came into contact with a high-tension wire, electrocuting Tirupathi (25) and Chandran (55). <br /><br />While the former died on the spot the latter succumbed on the way to hospital. The police have registered a case of negligence against the operator and the driver. The BTM Layout corporator GNR Babu has held the driver as well as the BWSSB officials responsible for the deaths.<br /></p>
