2 Nobel Laureates among speakers at Quantum India Bengaluru Summit

Bengaluru, DHNS: The two-day first edition of the Quantum India Bengaluru Summit will see about 70 speakers across the globe including two Nobel Laureates participating in the event.

The Summit, scheduled to be held on July 31 and August 1, is jointly organised by the Karnataka Science and Technology Promotion Society (KSTePS) and the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka, in association with the Quantum Technology Initiative of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc).

The inaugural summit will be centered around the theme 'Building a Quantum Ecosystem: Qubits to Society'. Some of the key topics of focus include Quantum Computing: Finance and AI; Quantum Peripherals and Hardware; Quantum in Healthcare and Security; and Quantum in Society and Art.

In addition to the plenary talks, the summit will also feature a multi-track conference, a platform for startup pitches and showcase, and an international exhibition. The summit is bringing in two Nobel Laureates to headline keynote sessions — Professor Duncan Haldane (2016 Nobel Laureate), and Professor David Gross (2004 Nobel Laureate).

Speaking about Karnataka's strong presence in the Year of the Quantum at the curtain raiser, N S Boseraju, Minister for Minor Irrigation and Science and Technology, said, "This summit will mark the opening chapter to put Karnataka in the global quantum map. It is a revolutionary initiative and reflects the state's strong focus on scientific progress and deep tech research and development."

IISc professor Arindam Ghosh has been appointed as the Conference Chair, and professor Akshay Naik is the co-chair.
