A walk down Church Street will be music to your ears, literally

A walk down Church Street is going to be music to your ears. Well, literally.

Being renovated under the TenderSURE project, the street now streams music from dawn to dusk. The BBMP has fixed speakers - provided by BPL - to LED electricity poles. The civic body is presently testing the speakers whether they would work in all weather conditions, K T Nagaraj, Chief Engineer (Major Roads), BBMP, told DH.

People have begun enjoying the music. Priyanka N, a student, said the idea of playing music on the street was good. "It makes our walk memorable," she added.

Deepak Batavia, president, Church Street Shop Owners' Association, welcomed the move and said the road was finally getting the amenities it deserved.
