<p>Chairman of Scientific Advisory Council to the Prime Minister CNR Rao told mediapersons that international experts will deliberate on applications of nanotechnology at the event. <br /><br />A special programme, ‘Nano for the Youth’ is being held with an objective to bridge the gap between students and scientists. <br /><br />A panel of experts comprising Prof Ajay K Sood from Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, Prof Umesh Waghmare from Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) and Prof Krishna N Ganesh from Indian Institute Of Science Education and Research, Pune, will share with students key aspects of nanotechnology and the excitement that lies in research on nano, he said. <br /><br />The three-day event, including presentations, discussions as well as interactive networking programmes, will be a meeting place for the nanotech community. It will bring together global scientists, industrialists, academicians and government bodies. For the first time, pre-conference tutorials will be held on December 7, offering an in-depth knowledge to postgraduate students and young researchers entering the field of nanotechnology.<br /><br />The event will also feature Research Industry Collaboration Hub (RICH), wherein seven startup companies will sign agreements on investments or research collaborations from the venture capital community and research institutions. RICH will also facilitate podium presentations and one-to-one meetings for emerging entrepreneurs in nano technology. <br /><br />Of the total 160 entries from the best of institutions like IISc, JNCASR, IITs, NCBS and international Universities, 115 young scientists and researchers are selected to present their innovations in the ‘poster session’. <br /></p>
