Sai Tamhankar started her career with Subhash Ghai’s ‘Black and White’ and later starred in ‘Ghajini’. Her bold character in ‘Hunterrr’ was appreciated by critics and audience. She will next be seen in an international film ‘Love Sonia’ which will release later this month.

It’s not news that actors don’t have the concept of weekends. But here’s the thing — I am a workaholic. I enjoy working on Sundays the most. Work is hectic but the travel time to the location is faster and that makes a whole lot of difference.

Having said that, when I do get an off, I make the most of it. It could be a series of activities I plan with my friends or being a couch potato.

My friends and I are avid travellers. I’ve travelled from Mumbai to Pune twice in a day. I believe that I have a hippie soul when it comes to travelling. There was a time when I went to Kerala and dined at the stalls and hung out with local people there, pretending to be a part of their daily lives. I do enjoy adventurous trips; the adrenaline excites me.

I’m also a movie buff. I’ve watched three movies back-to-back in theatres. To be honest, it was exhausting but it was something different from what I usually do.

I love watching television shows on my day offs too. It helps with the couch potato attitude that I have (laughs). Another important activity that I make sure to catch up on my sleep. Because of the work I do, my sleeping pattern isn’t always at its best. My weekend includes a lot of sleep.

When I’m not being extremely lazy, I love cooking. I’m am known for the Chicken Pasta and Sukha Chicken.

On the days I feel low, I go shopping. It might sound bizarre but I don’t look at my bank balance then. I shop till I am happy. And here’s the interesting part, I don’t own a credit card.

I used to be a party person. Well, I still do but I can’t think of going to a club anymore. I enjoy my quiet house parties where we can do what we want without restrictions.

In order to unwind, I love meeting my friend’s dog, Sherlock.

Over time, I’ve realised that you can’t really do everything you want due to certain commitments. When I’m working on a project, for a month or two, I will be completely busy with that. Whatever little time I get in between, to do the things I have been planning to do, eventually ends up becoming my perfect weekend.”

A few of my favourite things

  • Washing clothes
  • Cooking
  • Gardening
  • Hosting dinners
  • Cleaning
