<p>Bengaluru: After potholes, garbage blackspots have started reappearing in large numbers on Thursday, following disruptions in the city's door-to-door waste collection service. </p><p>Many residents took to social media to voice their concerns about the uncollected trash and the littered streets. </p><p>On Avenue Road, a shop owner shared how he was unable to open his shutters due to a large pile of garbage dumped in front of his store.</p>.Rs 600 cr: That’s how much citizens will pay for garbage collection in B'luru .<p>Significant amounts of waste were seen scattered across areas like Jayanagar, Cottonpet, Binnypet, Begur, New Thippasandra, RT Nagar, and Babusapalya, among others. The situation is expected to persist on Friday as well because officials are yet to resolve the issue, thanks to residents of Kannur and Mitaganahalli, who are blocking access to garbage-laden compactors that have been improperly dumping waste at the landfill. </p><p>“The Swachh Bharat campaign has been abandoned in Bengaluru. Once known as the garden city, it’s now a stinky garbage city. Magadi Road this morning,” Jnanesha Shenoy commented on X (formerly Twitter), sharing images of the littered streets.</p><p>In another post, Manoj Kumar, another resident, questioned the BBMP, “Can you explain why garbage is piling up across the city, including places where it was usually collected daily? Over the last few weeks, waste has been accumulating everywhere. Please address this issue.”</p><p>On Wednesday, about 300 garbage-filled compactors were stranded near the Mitaganahalli landfill as villagers blocked the road with debris. The Kannur gram panchayat also raised objections to the dumping after a decomposed body of a woman was found near the site. In addition, residents reported that cows and goats had died after consuming contaminated water flowing from the landfill.</p><p>During the session on Thursday, Malleswaram MLA Dr CN Ashwath Narayan also raised the garbage issue, stating the waste was not being picked up from homes. He questioned the government's delay in solving the crisis. </p>
