Bengaluru: Sandalwood star Darshan Thoogudeepa appeared before Rajarajeshwari Police on Wednesday for interrogation in connection with the case of the actor’s pet dogs allegedly biting a woman on October 28.

The actor was summoned by the police three days ago. He appeared before the police and recorded his statement on Wednesday morning.

An investigating officer told DH that Darshan was questioned for about 15 minutes and his statements were recorded.

The complainant, Amita Jindal, who happens to be a lawyer, alleged in her complaint, that she was bitten by two pet dogs belonging to the actor. She stated that she sustained injuries on her stomach because of the dog bites.

In her complaint, Jindal stated that she had parked her car at an empty plot next to Darshan’s house in RR Nagar on October 28.

"When I went to get my car, the two caretakers picked up an argument with me,” she said.

There were three dogs there, two chained and one off the leash. When the argument escalated, the dogs pounced on her, she told police.

An FIR was filed under IPC Section 289 (negligent conduct with respect to animal).
