<p>Bengaluru: Acting on multiple complaints of maladministration, 45 Karnataka Lokayukta teams inspected 25 Bescom and 20 BWSSB offices on Thursday, uncovering several irregularities, Lokayukta sources said.</p>.<p>Lokayukta Justice B S Patil personally visited four offices, including two Bescom and two BWSSB offices in the Yelahanka division.</p>.<p>Sources said the inspections were prompted by reports of consumer harassment, corruption, favouritism, inconvenience, and unresponsive officials. “Movement and attendance registers were not maintained, cash registers were outdated, and several other irregularities were noted,” a source said.</p>.Karnataka High Court extends time for Lokayukta police to file probe report till January 28 in MUDA case.<p>Speaking to reporters, Justice Patil pointed to the high number of corruption cases filed against Bescom officials. "In recent years, most Prevention of Corruption (PC) cases have involved Bescom employees, with the majority of traps conducted in their offices,” he said.</p>.<p>Patil also pointed out at the absenteeism in BWSSB offices. “At one Yelahanka office, only seven employees were present out of 20. The assistant engineer failed to respond when contacted,” he added.</p>.<p>The Lokayukta warned that government officials found guilty of dereliction of duty will be summoned and held accountable. Patil urged citizens to come forward and file complaints if they face harassment or inconvenience.</p>
