Man held for hunting deer at Kanakapura forest

Forest officials arrested a man on Wednesday on charges of hunting a deer at Kanakpura forest.

Fayaz, 40, is the arrested. He is accused of killing a deer at Muneshwara forest near Kodihalli at Hobli.

His two associates, Ijaz Pasha, 32, and Papanna, 40, managed to escape.

The police have also recovered deer meat, a two-wheeler and an unlicenced gun that was used to shoot the animal. The suspects were planning to transport the meat and sell it in the City.
In the afternoon, the forest guards found Fayaz and his two associates suspiciously moving in the forest area.

The forest guards brought the matter to the notice of the higher officials, who along with additional reinforcements reached the spot and arrested Fayaz.
