<p>The brother of Congress MLA Bairathi Basavaraj, who had manhandled a traffic constable near Jai Bharath Nagar a few months ago, allegedly attacked a head constable in Telecom Layout under Sampigehalli police limits on Friday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Nagesh, the man in question, on being stopped by head constable Shivananda during a routine check of vehicles as part of vigilance efforts to check chain-snatchings and eve-teasing, had refused to produce his vehicle’s documents.<br /><br />Claiming that he was the brother of the MLA, he threatened to report the constable to higher officials, leading to a minor scuffle, with the public intervening to bring about a truce.<br /><br />Later, Shivananda registered a complaint against Nagesh at the Sampigehalli police station, following which a case was registered and further investigation taken up.<br /></p>
