Two Nepalese women were among six people arrested in the city with 4 kg of charas on Thursday.

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) arrested them from the third floor of SLV Hotel located on Hesaraghatta Main Road near Sambhram College in North Bengaluru.

CCB police inspector G Lakshmikanthaiah said that they received information that drugs meant for sale were stocked up on the third floor of the hotel.

While four men who were waiting to receive the drugs were detained first, the women were caught when they turned up carrying packets of the contraband.

The CCB identified the arrested men as Asgar Ali, 45, Anwar Sadath, 36, Abdul Lateef, 40, all from Ullal, Dakshina Kannada district; and Mohammed Haneef, 45, of Mangaluru. The women are Dil Mayagarthy, 40, and Meena Budda Moraga, 42.

Police said that Ali and Lateef became friends while they were lodged in the Belagavi prison. They knew a few drug peddlers and sub-peddlers. They then got in touch with a big-time drug peddler identified as Kum, and decided to get into the business.

Kum agreed to supply them drugs through the two Nepalese women who had come to Bengaluru from Delhi in search of jobs. Five days ago, he contacted the women and gave them drugs.

The CCB also seized a Mahindra Scorpio belonging to Lateef. It was allegedly used to peddle the drugs.
