<p>A 19-year-old nursing student from Kerala was found dead in her hostel room in Ramanagara on the outskirts of Bengaluru, in what police suspect to be a case of suicide.</p><p>The deceased Anamika Vineeth, a native of Kannur, was a first-year BSc nursing student at Dayananda Sagar University in Kanakapura. She had been staying alone in her hostel room for the past 15 days as her roommate was on sick leave, the police said.</p><p>Anamika’s body was discovered hanging from the ceiling fan around 9.30 pm on Tuesday. Her hostel mates alerted the security guards when she was not seen in the evening. </p><p>The hostel authorities rang her up and heard her phone ringing from inside the room. </p>.Man kills wife, stages it as suicide; arrested in Bengaluru.<p>The authorities used a master key to unlock the door and found her unresponsive.</p><p>The jurisdictional Harohalli police were immediately informed.</p><p>“We have registered a case under BNS Section 108 (abetment of suicide) based on a complaint by the girl’s father,” a senior police officer told <em>DH</em>. “So far, no foul play has been observed at the crime scene.”</p><p><strong>Handwritten note found</strong></p><p>Investigators recovered a handwritten note in Malayalam, believed to be left behind by Anamika.</p><p>“The note is being translated, and handwriting analysis is underway to confirm its authenticity,” the officer said.</p><p>The police are also examining multiple angles, including her academic performance, attendance records, and any personal or family-related issues that could have led to the incident.</p>
