Revised rail Tatkal charges from April 1

The Railways has announced the new Tatkal charges, which will be effective from April 1. The rates will be 10 per cent of the basic fare for reserved Second (2S) Class and 30 per cent of the basic fare for all other classes of travel, subject to minimum and maximum charges as given below:

For Reserved Second Sitting (2S), minimum Tatkal charges are fixed at Rs 10 and maximum at Rs 15.

Similarly, for sleeper class the minimum is 90, while the maximum is Rs 175. For AC Chair Car, it is Rs 100 and Rs 200, respectively.

­For AC 3-tier class, the minimum is Rs 250 and while the maximum is Rs 350. For AC 2-tier class and executive class, it is Rs 300 and Rs 400, respectively.

The Railway Board has fixed the above slabs to ensure passengers are not overcharged while booking the tatkal tickets, said a senior official of the South Western Railway.

Diverted

In the wake of non-interlocking work at Santragachi station between March 22 to March 25, South Western Railways has decided to cancel a pair of trains besides diverting/rescheduling and short termination of other trains. They are as follows:

Trains cancelled

Train no 12864 Yeshwantpur-Howrah Express leaving Yeshwantpur on March 22 (Friday) will remain cancelled. Consequently, Train no 12863 Howrah-Yeshwantpur leaving from Howrah on March 24 (Sunday) will also be cancelled.

Trains diverted

Train no 18048 Vasco Da Gama-Howrah-Amaravati Express leaving Vasco Da Gama on March 22 (Friday) will be diverted from Santragachi and will terminate at Shalimar station, instead of Howrah on March 23.

Also train no 18047 Howrah-Vasco Da Gama- Amaravati Express leaving from Howrah on March 23 (Saturday) will originate from Shalimar, instead of Howrah.

Train no 22831 Satya Sai Prashanti Nilayam-Howrah Express, leaving Satya Prashanti Nilayam station on March 22 will be diverted from Santragachi and will terminate at Shalimar Station, instead of Howrah on March 23.

Train no 12509 Bangalore City-Guwahati Express leaving Bangalore City station on March 22 will be diverted via Hijli (avoiding Kharagpur)-Gokulpur-Adra-Assansol stations.

Train no 12253 Yeshwantpur-Bhagalpur Express leaving Yeshwantpur station on March 23 will be diverted via Hijli (avoiding Kharagpur)-Gokulpur-Adra-Assansol stations.

Train no 15902 Dibrugarh-Yeshwantpur Express leaving Dibrugarh station on March 22, 2013 will be diverted via Assansol-Adra-Gokulpur-Hijli stations(avoiding Kharagpur).
