Speeding biker hits footpath, dies

A 22-year-old engineering student was killed in a road accident in Kengeri on Wednesday. The victim, Manoj Bhardwaj, a resident of KHB Platinum flats in Shirke, was a third-year Mechanical Engineering student of Don Bosco College.

Bhardwaj’s father, Muralidharan, works in Kuwait, while his mother Aarthi is a homemaker.

According to the police, the accident happened around 5.30 pm near Swarga Palace dhaba in Maruthi Nagar.

He was riding at a high speed while returning home. He lost control of the vehicle and hit the footpath on a double road and sustained massive head injuries as he was not wearing a helmet.

He was taken to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
