The world music band Esperanto with musicians from diverse background came together to evolve new music that had universal appeal.

The band performed an eclectic mix of compositions starting with Muthuswami Dikshtar’s Maha Ganapathim.

Geetha Navale, veena player, commenced her performance with Raag Nata. Michael Sorensen echoed the musical piece on Blues Harp.

Violin virtuoso Ranjan Kumar Beura showed his expertise in Raag Jog.

The song was underlaid with a funky groove by Gopal Navale on the rhythm guitar and Rahul Pophli on tabla.

The next was the band’s original composition titled Moonlight Cafe – dedicated to an  eatery in Malleswaram – in Mishra chhapu tala.

There was also an instrumental presentation of Thyagaraja's beautiful ballad,
Chalamela Ra on veena, harmonised with chords by Gopal Navale on the guitar which made the song sound like a contemporary number.

Up next was Raag Todi, which started deceptively like an easy listening slow rock song.
The melodious rendition of I wouldn’t be surprised… made the audience enjoy the concert to the fullest.

In an ensemble performance, Nanda Kishore showed his expertise on guitar by following the rhythm of veena and mridangam.

The dancers made the event worth watching with their deft movements. The surprise of the evening was the new composition based on the song Lambodhara in Raag Malhari.

The presentation of the song took the audience to a magical world and they kept asking for more.

In the second part, Sneha Dev Nandan enthralled the audience with her bharatanatyam dance.

Sanjay Das, a radio jockey said that he enjoyed the show completely.

“It was an amazing performance. It was rich in musical aspects. Ranjan Kumar and Nand Kishore made skillful presentations. All the compositions were excellent and they could be understood by laymen also,” he felt.
