<p>Mangaluru: Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai said on Saturday that the BJP has suspicions over the Naxal surrender process taken up by the Congress-led government in Karnataka.</p><p>Speaking to reporters, Annamalai said that there is no integrity in the process of Naxal surrender. There seems to be no proper negotiations in the entire process. There are doubts over whether the Congress made use of the internal politics within Maoist groups or whether anyone influenced the government in the process.</p><p>He alleged the surrender process was conducted for political mileage, and it was unclear who negotiated their surrender. </p><p>“Previously, when I was the SP of Chikkamagaluru, Maoists had surrendered. I was involved in the surrender process. According to the rules, Maoists must surrender before the Deputy Commissioner and SP, followed by other procedures. Here, the surrender process was conducted for political mileage. If there is any influence on the government in the surrender process, then it will likely impact civil society,” the Tamil Nadu BJP chief said.</p>.Karnataka: Arms found, cops probing link to surrendered Maoists.<p>“When Maoists surrender, people should have confidence. There is no public trust in the recent surrender. The Home Minister speaks inconsistently, indicating a lack of information about the surrender. There is a need to investigate the issue," he added.</p><p>To a query on former cricketer Ashwin's statement that Hindi is not the national language but the official language, Annamalai said that Hindi is the official language. </p><p>"The Prime Minister has often mentioned not just Hindi, but all languages are national languages,” Annamalai said. </p><p>Furthermore, he noted that the Prime Minister gives great respect to Kannada, as well as to Tamil. Ashwin has said that all languages are national languages, and there is no other issue, he stated.</p>
