State BJP president B S Yeddyurappa on Saturday reiterated that the BJP would win 22 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka scripting collapse of JD(S)-Congress coalition government in the state.

“Results of Lok Sabha polls will trigger political upheaval in Karnataka,” he told reporters.

“There is a wave in favour of the BJP due to failure in governance by the coalition government. About 20 Congress MLAs aren’t ready to accept H D Kumaraswamy as their chief minister,” he said.

Yeddyurappa said that all 17 sitting MPs might get tickets. The Central leadership would take a call in case of last minute changes. On the statement that Shobha Karandlaje wouldn’t be fielded, he said:”Someone may make any comments.”

Reacting to Yeddyurappa’s claims, Home Minister M B Patil said in Kalaburagi that the former chief minister was a daydreamer. “There have been several deadlines in the past. Yeddyurappa is dreaming to be chief minister again,” he said.

“The BJP won’t win 22 seats and form the government at the centre again. AICC President Rahul Gandhi led UPA government will come to the power,” he predicted. “The government will soon constitute a Special Investigation Team to probe audiagate scandal involving Yeddyurappa,” he said.
