<p>Mangaluru: <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/dakshina-kannada">Dakshina Kannada</a> district, which has achieved a total pass percentage of 93.57 per cent in the II PU examination is second among the districts in the state.</p><p>Last year, DK stood first with 97.37 per cent pass percentage and in 2022-23, it had achieved 95.33 per cent. And, in 2021-22, 88.02 per cent.</p><p>It should be noted that All the students were declared ‘pass’ due to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2021. </p><p>In 2018-19, DK stood second in the list with 90.91 per cent. The district secured a 91.41% pass percentage in 2017-18. The district secured the second position in 2016-17 by registering 89.92 per cent. The pass percentage in 2015-16 — 90.48 per cent; 2014-15— 93.09 per cent; 2013-14 — 86.04 per cent and 2012-13—85.88 per cent.</p>.PUC 2 exam results: Thirthahalli girl tops science in Karnataka .<p><strong>Remedial classes held</strong></p><p>Speaking to DH, in charge Deputy Director of PU department Sridhar H G said “ the department had constituted taluk level shaikshanika samithi, wherein we were analysing the results in each college in the taluk, which worked effectively in the good results. Further remedial classes were conducted for students who were poor in studies. Both government and private PU colleges had worked hard and focused on good results. Further, DK has state toppers in science and commerce streams,” he added.</p><p><strong>Toppers speak</strong></p><p>Shreevidya, Government PU College, Kaniyoor who secured 595 marks in the science stream said that she expected a rank in the state and was expecting 598 marks with full marks in Mathematics. I will apply for a revaluation. </p><p>“I used to study three to four hours daily. The college lecturers were supportive and gave us enough study materials to study, which helped me to score well. I want to clear the UPSC exam. I will pursue BSc and later want to do MSc in Mathematics. I also engage in writing poems,” she added. She is the daughter of Narayana A K and Shailashree.</p><p>Expert PU College student Shreya S (597), who hails from Hassan said that she will be taking up NEET exam and to get seat in medical science. Her parents Suresh and Savitha are doctors.</p>.<p>P Yuktha Sree from Vivekananda PU College who secured 593 marks in Arts stream, said that she is overjoyed to know that she is one of the topper in the state.</p><p>Hailing from Bengaluru, Yuktha said “I was attentive in classrooms. I concentrated on my studies and worked hard one month prior to the exam. Teachers were supportive and were constantly giving us mock tests, which helped to prepare well for the exams. I want to become an engineer. My foundation for the subjects were strong with the experienced lecturers teaching us in the classrooms.”</p>.<p>Hailing from Balehonnur in Chikkamagaluru, Anoop Shawn Gomes from Excellent PU College, Moodbidri who secured 596 in commerce said the atmosphere in the college and hostel was conducive for studies. “I want to pursue BC om with CA.
