Speaking at World Disabled Day organised by the district administration, Zilla Panchayat, Department of Welfare of Disabled and Senior Citizen, Women and Child Welfare department, district Legal Services Authority here on Friday, he said parents support and will power is essential for achieving success. The differently abled have achieved success in art, sports, music and literature.

Differently abled children should not lose hope. They can lead a normal life, he added.
Assembly Speaker K G Bopaiah said three per cent of the jobs are reserved for disabled in government and other sectors. However, there are allegations that the order has not been implemented effectively.

MLA M P Appachu Ranjan said that the government provides honourarium of Rs 1,000 to the disabled every month.
