Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy is again seeking the divine intervention for warding off evil forces and ensuring success.

Kumaraswamy, whose family is know for strong religious beliefs, is set to be perform Rudra and Ganapati homas at the famous Umamaheshwari temple in Chikkamagaluru district on Sunday. He arrived at Chikkamagaluru on Saturday after undergoing four-day naturopathy treatment at a resort in Udupi district.

The chief minister and his family members are keeping their fingers crossed on the outcome of Mandya parliamentary election. Kumaraswamy’s son Nikhil wants to make his political debut as a Member of Parliament from Mandya. He was locked in a bitter contest with BJP-backed Independent candidate Sumalatha.

Besides homa and special pooja, Kumaraswamy has already directed the Muzrai department to take immediate steps to donate a Rs 80-crore golden chariot to Kukke Subramanya temple. The chariot is said to be donated for the smooth functioning of the coalition government.
