<p>Mangaluru: The Alva's Education Foundation, in collaboration with Sapna Book House, Bengaluru, hosted the launch of "Vishva Samskriti Mahayana – Volume 2", an epic prose work by former union minister M Veerappa Moily, at Dr V S Acharya Auditorium in Vidyagiri, Moodbidri.</p><p>Speaking at the launch, retired Mysore University English professor and renowned critic Prof Naganna remarked, "There is no gap between Moily's vision and its realisation. This is because, while he is actively engaged in public welfare in the external world, he is deeply meditative and committed to giving expression to various intellectual pursuits internally. Moily is truly a rare intellect."</p><p>Veerappa Moily, speaking as the author, expressed his gratitude to the individuals who guided and inspired him throughout his journey.</p>.Bengaluru third-slowest city in the world.<p>Discussing his work, Moily said, "The second volume of 'Vishva Samskriti Mahayana' unfolds in a question-and-answer format, which holds a message for today's academic environment. The tradition of inquiry and dialogue is disappearing from higher education. What we need to impart to students is the skill of asking questions, as true knowledge stems from this ability."</p><p>Moily emphasised, "When people read literature, they must transform and become cultured. Literature and culture, when combined, can unite global civilisations. By fostering critical thinking, moral values, awareness, patience, justice and determination, society can overcome negativity and progress."</p><p>Hampi Kannada University former vice chancellor Dr Vivek Rai said, "The work is filled with multidimensional knowledge conveyed through dialogue, has the power to civilize us. It acts as a network of knowledge, awakening our humanity," he said.</p><p>Charukeerthi Bhattaraka Swami of the Moodbidri Jain Mutt noted, "A distorted mindset is eroding culture.
