<p><a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/bjp">BJP</a> state president <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/b-y-vijayendra">B Y Vijayendra</a> on Thursday asserted that he has no role in picking or influencing anyone to be the district president, as the entire election process is same across the country in the manner in which Chikkaballapur district president is elected.</p>.<p>Vijayendra’s reaction came a day after Chikkaballapur MP (BJP) Dr Sudhakar had alleged that Vijayendra had rigged the entire election process in the state to remain as party’s state president.</p>.<p>Speaking to reporters, Vijayendra said, “Dr Sudhakar may not be fully aware of the party’s functioning and the manner in which elections take place. Therefore, he must have made such remarks against me. But I will not get into it.”</p>.MUDA case: CM Siddaramaiah attempted money laundering, alleges ED.<p>He noted that the Sanghatana Parva is designed, implemented and monitored under the careful watch of the party’s central leaders.</p>.<p>“I have zero role in either picking candidate or ensuring anyone’s victory. Party central leaders have made all appointments such as state chief electoral officer, deputed 13 observers by assigning them three districts each. Each district has a returning officer and a co-returning officer responsible for holding discussions and coordinating with the respective district leaders,” he said.</p>.<p>He said that three names were received from each district. Without changing a single letter from these recommendations, the list was sent to the central leaders. The elections were conducted after the final names for 23 districts were sent back to the state election committee, he explained.</p>.<p>Reacting to Dr Sudhakar’s statement that the party had become Vijayendra’s property, he said, “BJP is neither his property nor mine. It belongs to several lakhs of workers who have toiled to build it. There are several workers who aspire to become district president and it is the same case in Chikkaballapur too. For this appointment, Sudhakar should not have made such remarks as it does not suit his stature.”</p>.<p>He also said the process to elect the posts of booth to national president remains the same. </p>
