KPCC Working President R Dhruvanarayana said that Janadhwani programmes are organised to create awareness among people on the anti-people policies of the Central and state governments.

The protest meetings will be held in both the Assembly constituencies in Kodagu, he added.

He was speaking during the executive committee meeting of the Congress at Dr B R Ambedkar Bhavana in Madikeri.

Janadhwani programmes are held in several Assembly constituencies in the state, he said.

The state and Central governments have failed to protect the interests of the people. There is a need to place the failure of the government before the people, he added.

The Congress will be strengthened at the grassroots level in the backdrop of the Taluk Panchayat and Zilla Panchayat elections, said Dhruvanarayana.

There is a need for clean politics in the present situation. The contributions of the BJP MLAs for the last 20 years is zero in the district, he said.

The BJP MLAs have failed to take up development works. During the Congress regime, the district was given three ministers and no works were delayed during the regime, he added.

He demanded the government to initiate measures to capture the tiger that has claimed three lives in the district.

DCC president K K Manjunath Kumar said that Kodagu could not get a Congress MLA for the last 23 years. All should work unitedly by keeping aside their individual differences for Congress.

He predicted the victory of Congress-supported candidates in Ponnampet and Gonikoppa Gram Panchayat elections.

An awareness rally is being organised to create awareness on Janadhwani.

MLC Veena Achaiah, AICC spokesperson Brijesh Kalappa, KPCC Legal Cell president A S Ponnanna and others spoke on the occasion.
