<p>Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court on Monday directed the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the Trade Unions of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation Employees to put on hold their proposed strike till Tuesday. </p><p>A division bench comprising Justices KS Mudagal and MGS Kamal passed this interim order and posted the matter to Tuesday.</p><p>The bench was hearing a PIL filed by J Sunil and others. During the hearing, it was submitted that after issuing the July 15, 2025 notice of indefinite strike, conciliation meetings were held on July 28, 2025 and August 2, 2025. </p><p>The court was informed that the reconciliation process was still on and a meeting between JAC of the Trade Union of KSRTC employees and the Chief Minister was underway. </p> .<p>"If the entire public transport operation is stalled, the public are likely to be put to hardship. Therefore, it is appropriate to grant an interim stay till tomorrow awaiting the outcome of negotiations with the government referred to above. </p><p>"Hence , respondent-7 (JAC of Trade Unions of KSRTC employees) is directed to put on hold their proposed strike till the next date of hearing," the bench said while ordering notice to the state government, KSRTC, BMTC and others. </p><p>The petition submitted that the proposed indefinite strike violates the right to mobility guaranteed under Article 21 of the constitution. </p><p>The petitioner placed the August 1, 2025 circular issued by the KSRTC prohibited the employees from participating in any strike by citing ESMA and Industrial Disputes Act. The circular also invoked the 'No work No pay' principle and warned the employees of disciplinary action.</p>
