Male leopard trapped in Hunsur

A four-year-old male leopard was trapped in a cage, laid by the Forest department personnel, on a land belonging to Elizabeth Rani, at Shantipura in the taluk on Tuesday.

Acting on the complaints of the residents of the village about pet dogs disappearing since a week, due to suspected leopard menace, the department had placed a cage on Monday.
The leopard fell to the bait on the same night.

The leopard was later released into the Nagarahole forests, said department personnel.
