Senior IAS officer N Manjunatha Prasad who was transferred on the orders of the Election Commission in May 2018, was brought back as the commissioner of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) on Thursday.
In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the government transferred BBMP commissioner M Maheshwara Rao and posted Manjunatha Prasad in his place. Rao had assumed office following Prasad's transfer just a week before the Assembly polls.
Prasad had been waiting for a posting ever since he was transferred from the BBMP. Rao has been transferred as secretary, Agriculture, with additional charge of Horticulture and Sericulture.
