Police have filed an FIR against MLA K M Shivalingegowda on charges of violating the model code of conduct for his alleged statements against the supporters of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in Arsikere, on Sunday.
Shivalingegowda was addressing the JD(S) party workers meeting in Arsikere, on March 20, here. He was criticising the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and had asked party workers, to “slap those who chant Modi, Modi”.
BJP district spokesman N D Prasad had lodged a complaint against the MLA with the assistant election officer. Based on the reports, the town police have lodged an FIR against Shivalingegowda.
