Pejawar seer hurt in accident, hospitalised

Pejawar Mutt seer Vishwesha Theertha Swami met with a minor accident on his way back to Mangaluru from Mantralaya at around 9.45 pm on Friday.

Sources from the Mutt told DH that the seer, after completing Paryaya, had been to Mantralaya and was on his way to the Hyderabad airport in a car, to board the flight to Mangaluru.

The driver of his SUV failed to notice a hump on the road near Kurnool and applied brakes at the last moment. The seer, who already has a backbone problem, suffered a twist in his backbone.

The sources said the seer later reached Udupi and was referred to a hi-tech hospital at Amabalpadi Junction. Doctors have advised the seer complete bed rest.
