City Mayor Sampath Raj inaugurated reserved parking slots for women on the Commercial Street and near Garuda Mall on Sunday.

This comes after the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) launched a dedicated 'pay and park' slots system exclusively for cars driven by women on Brigade Road.

Speaking on the occasion, Mayor said: "On the Commercial Street there is space to park 72 vehicles. In this, 15 parking slots are reserved for women and three slots for people with disabilities.

"In Garuda Mall, there are 972 parking slots. In this, 195 will be reserved for women drivers," he said.

"We have also decided to reserve parking space for women on the city roads in the coming days," the Mayor said.
