<p>Mysuru: Mysuru-based Kannada Kriya Samithi (KKS), Shastriya Basha Kannada Horata Samithi and other organisations have welcomed the stand of the Centre to continue autonomous status of the Centre of Excellence for Studies in Classical Kannada (CESCK), but have opposed the idea to move CESCK out of Mysuru.</p><p>Sa Ra Sudharshan of KKS said three resolutions were passed at a meeting of the samithis at Nrupathunga Kannada Shaale in Mysuru recently.</p><p>Sudarshan said, “The first resolution is to welcome the move of the Centre to separate CESCK from Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL) and continue it as an autonomous institution. We seek the decision in the form of an order, immediately. But, we demand to drop the idea to move the Centre to Bengaluru as CESCK was launched in Mysuru nearly two decades ago, and the University of Mysore has spared a piece of land for the construction of the building for CESCK."</p><p>He further added, "Copies of the resolution will be sent to Union Ministers, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha Members in this regard. The second resolution is to meet Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Mysuru District in-Charge Minister H C Mahadevaiah to press for the demand. The third resolution is to meet Mysore-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamraja Wadiyar and Chamarajanagar MP Sunil Bose and urge them to pursue the demand."</p><p>Sudarshan said, another meeting has been convened on February 8, Saturday, at Nrupathunga Kannada School, at 4 pm, to discuss on the future course of action, regarding CESCK. Those interested to be part of the movement can participate.</p><p>Kalegowda Nagawara, Horeyala Doreswamy, B A Shivashankar, Suresh Babu, Na Diwakara, Aravinda Sharma, Ma Gu Sadanandaiah, Savitha Pa Mallesh, G Prakash, Panditharadhya, Maddikere Gopal, Siddegowda and Rayanna were present in the meeting.</p>
