<p>Six monkeys were found dead beside the road in a reserve forest at Kayarthodi in Mundaje village of Belthangady taluk. </p>.<p>The officials from forest, health, and gram panchayat visited the spot. After conducting the post mortem, the carcasses of the monkeys were cremated. It is suspected that monkeys died of poisoning. </p>.<p>On Thursday evening, the residents had heard the groaning of the monkeys. The viscera of the monkeys have been sent to a laboratory in Pune. The exact cause of death will be known after getting the report, said Mundaje PHC medical officer Dr Kavya Vaipana. </p>
