A skeletal was found in a shed in Kumbashi near Kundapur on Friday.

Kundapur police suspect that the skeletal belongs to a woman who had died four or five years ago.

Sources in Kundapur police station said there are nobody other than one Malathi Shetty, who had gone missing in Kundapur area about four years ago.

Sathish Shetty, a man from Korgi village in Kundapur and settled in USA, had lodged a complaint stating that his mother Malathi Shetty had gone missing about four years ago. But there is no strong evidence to establish that it is the skeleton of Malathi Shetty, sources added.

The skeleton was found on the land belonging to one Praveen Shetty, a resident of Vakwadi. The shed, where the skeleton was found, was not used for many years.

On Friday, some laborers came to clean the land. When they removed a sheet on the roof of the shed, they found the skeleton and informed it to Kundapur police. The bones of the skeleton were sent to Manipal for forensic test, sources said.
