<p>Bengaluru: As many as 16, 313 students were absent for the first language subject paper on day one of the SSLC examination across the state on Friday. </p>.<p>The Karnataka School Examination Assessment Board (KSEAB), in a communique, said no examination malpractice was reported on the day.</p>.<p>As much as 98.06 per cent of the total students appeared for the examination. </p>.<p>Minister for School Education Madhu Bangarappa visited the examination centre at the Karnataka Public School (KPS) at Malleswaram in the city and greeted the students by offering roses and wishing them the best.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Before the commencement of the examinations, the minister verified the examination arrangements with the officials. </p>.<p class="bodytext">This is the first of the three annual SSLC examinations. </p>.<p class="bodytext">A total of 8,96,447 students have enrolled for this examination, including 4,61,563 boys and 4,34,884 girls from 15,881 high schools across the state.</p>
