<p>Three people were killed and one person had a narrow escape when the driver of a Bolero lost control of the sports utility vehicle and drove it into the Tungabhadra high-level canal near Toranagallu in Sandur taluk of the district.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The deceased are Sanoj Verghese, 26, Rejin Rajan, 23, and Nitin Krishna, 22. Srikanth, their co-passenger, had a narrow escape and he came out of the SUV by breaking the windowpanes. <br /><br />He is undergoing treatment at the Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences hospital in Ballari.<br /><br />They were all employees of Sowbhagya Construction Company and were on their way to the Jindal steel factory in Toranagallu on some work through the bund of the canal.<br />The vehicle was lifted out using a crane and the bodies were extricated. <br /><br />The Toranagallu police have registered a case.<br /><br /><br /></p>
