<p>Home Minister G Parameshwara on Friday visited Udayagiri police station here on Friday and backed the police saying they handled the incident of mob attack on the station on Monday efficiently. </p><p>He held a meeting with police officials, including DCPs S Janhavi and M Muththuraj and Mysuru SP N Vishnuvardhana. City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar was in Bengaluru to attend a meeting with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. </p><p>Following the meeting Parameshwara told reporters, “I have obtained information about the incident. I have directed the police to take stringent action against those who were involved in the incident, irrespective of who they are. They have arrested several suspects based on the CCTV camera footage. We will not let anyone take law into their hands.” </p>.Couple ties the knot in front of Ambedkar's statue in Karnataka's Kadur .<p>On the statements by Congress leaders, including K N Rajanna and party spokesperson M Lakshmana, against the police, he said, “When such incidents happen, we cannot stop anyone from making any statement as everyone has freedom of speech. But, political statements cannot demoralise the police. No one should play politics on such issues.” Replying to a query, Parameshwar said, “In UP, there have been instances of using bulldozers during such incidents. But, there is no such situation in Karnataka.”</p>.<p><strong>20 held for violence</strong></p><p>The CCB police have, so far, arrested 20 people in connection with the mob attack on Udayagiri police station on Monday. </p><p>The police are also investigating the source of the post, which was shared by the accused Sathish on social media, which sparked tension near the police station on Monday. Sathish has been handed over to police custody.</p>.<p><strong>Plaint against Simha</strong></p><p>Meanwhile, KPYCC general secretary Deepak Shivanna has lodged a complaint alleging that the accused Sathish is an associate of former MP Pratap Simha.</p><p>“They have done this to create unrest in the society. So, Simha should also be subjected to investigation,” the complainant said.</p>
