<p>Mumbai: Mobile forensic labs will be game-changers in reaching crime scenes faster, gathering on-site evidence, and speeding up investigations, <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/maharashtra">Maharashtra</a> Chief Minister <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/devendra-fadnavis">Devendra Fadnavis</a> said.</p><p>“Forensic labs are not just about science; they’re pillars of justice. As we move towards becoming a developed economy, our goal is to reach 90 per cent and that’s why we’ve created India’s most advanced Cyber Forensic setup right here in Maharashtra — so effective that other States are now looking to replicate it,” Fadnavis said after performing the bhoomi-poojan of the new Regional Forensic Science Laboratory building in Nagpur.</p><p>According to Fadnavis, the Forensic department’s efficiency rose by 22 per cent in 2024 compared to 2023. </p><p>“Regional Forensic Science Laboratories will soon adopt a more citizen-centric approach, along with the use of blockchain technology — a move that will bring greater speed and transparency to the process of establishing evidence and delivering justice on time,” the CM said.</p>
