The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken over the probe into the blast in the Bhopal-Ujjain passenger train in Madhya Pradesh, in which a “self- radicalised and IS-inspired” module is claimed to be involved.
The police had killed one person in an encounter in connection with the blast and eight people have been arrested. Sources said the accused will be handed over to the NIA.
Investigators in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh have handed over the documents related to their probe to the NIA. The NIA will soon start questioning the accused.
Saifullah, who was killed in the recent Lucknow encounter, is suspected to be linked to the blast and belonged to a self-proclaimed group of IS supporters.
