BJP MP Etela Rajender loses cool, slaps realtor in Telangana's Malkajgiri

Hyderabad: BJP MP Etela Rajender lost his cool and slapped a realtor on Tuesday in Malkajgiri of Greater Hyderabad area of Telangana. A video of the incident went viral on the internet.

On Tuesday, Rajender visited Ekashila Nagar in Pocharam Municipality of Malkajgiri at the request of local residents. The local residents who come from a poor background complained to the MP that their lands have been occupied by local real estate brokers.

Upon their appeal, Rajender went to Ekashila Nagar to talk to the realtors on behalf of the locals. While talking to one of the real estate brokers, the MP lost his cool and slapped him. His supporters assaulted him as well, which led to an altercation.

Rajender said, "In 1985, poor people in Narapalli and Korremula villages bought lands and built homes. Yet, 149 acres of unused land were resold multiple times, causing untold suffering to the rightful owners." He accused officials of creating fake documents to facilitate the exploitation. The MP demanded that the officials be booked and arrested.

A case has been registered against MP Rajender based on a complaint filed by realtor G Upendra. The Pocharam police have booked cases under sections 126(2), 115(2), 352, 351(2), r/w 189(2), r/w 191(2) of the IPC and the BNS Act. According to the complaint, Rajender and 30 others attacked Upender when he was on security duty at Ekashilanagar.
