One of the most popular faces of regional cinema, Priyamani is a multilingual star. Some of her notable films include Paruthiveeran, Thirakattha, Golimaar, Raavanan and Chaarulatha. Of course, who can forget her superhit dance number with King Khan in Chennai Express?
.
This pretty actor loves travelling, and one of her favourite holiday spots in the world is Dubai. “Dubai is like a second home for me and my husband since both of us have families there. We go there very often. In fact, my last holiday was in Dubai,” she says.
.
Here are her travel essentials:
.
Beauty matters
.
Priyamani likes to keep things minimal on her vacations. That said, she does believe in carrying around make-up basics in her bag, always. “I prefer to put make-up only when I am in front of the camera. But of late, I have realised that a little bit of make-up on holidays does go a long way for my skin. It also helps when I am taking pictures or when people come up to take selfies with me. I don’t put on anything heavy on my face, but go for bare essentials such as kajal and a very light foundation,” she states.
.
But Priyamani does have a neat beauty hack to share. “When I go to cold places, I always carry my moisturiser with me so that my skin doesn’t dry out. But there’s one thing that I always follow when I am at cold places. It’s something that my make-up man from my first film taught me. I always wash my face with ice-cold water in cold places as it helps keep my face fresh for a long time. Usually, we tend to take showers with really hot water in such places, right? But I do that only neck-down; for my face, I always use ice-cold water,” she says.
.
Clothes
.
Talking about her holiday wardrobe, Priyamani says, “My holiday wardrobe depends on the place I am holidaying in. In cold places, all my jackets and sweatshirts finally see the light of the day. So, a leather jacket, a sweatshirt and a pair of boots are a must in cold places. In hot places, my suitcase is filled with short dresses, shorts, t-shirts and sandals.”
.
“Recently, I have begun to like joggers for my trips. They are super comfortable and I can wear them almost anywhere as long as I team them up well with shirts, jackets and boots. Also, wherever I go, I ensure I pick up more of these comfy pants,” she adds.
.
Accessories
.
Priyamani is not too high on accessories on her holidays. Even when it comes to jewellery, she likes to keep it minimum, except for a pair of earrings. But she does have a soft corner for bags, with backpacks being her current obsession. “I tend to pick any bag I see and like. But handbags are quite inconvenient. That’s why I love small backpacks that you can wear over your shoulder and walk around freely. My husband bought me one such bag in Sydney, from a company called Witchery. And recently, for my birthday, he got me a similar bag from Moschino. These two bags are my current favourites,” she says.
.
Gadgets
.
“I carry my iPhone wherever I go. But more than the phone, I am obsessed with phone covers. I keep changing them all the time. But nothing like ‘Hello Kitty’ covers. I am a big superhero fan, so at any given point of time, my phone will either have Batman or Superman, or Avengers on it,” she says.
