I am not in the race for State BJP post: Shobha

BJP leader Shobha Karandlaje

BJP leader Shobha Karandlaje on Friday said she was not in the race for becoming the state party president, the post currently held by B S Yeddyurappa.

"I am not in the race. The party will take an appropriate decision on appointing the new state chief at the right time,” she told reporters to a query whether she was aspiring to replace Yeddyurappa.

Asked whether she was in favour of appointing new state BJP president, she said Yeddyurappa has completed his three-years term. Appointment of new president is part of organisational changes that will happen, she added.

The party central leadership had recently indicated that the 76-year-old Yeddyurappa will be replaced after the Lok Sabha polls. Party leaders R Ashoka, C T Ravi and Aravind Limbavali are among the prominent aspirants for the post.
