Let Revanna take political sanyas: Ayanur Manjunath

BJP MLC Ayanur Manjunath on Friday said that Public Works Minister H D Revanna was to blame for the defeat of his nephew Nikhil Kumaraswamy from Mandya Lok Sabha constituency.

Ayanur Manjunath told reporters here, “Revanna made sure Mandya voters favour Independent candidate Sumalatha Ambareesh with disparaging comments against her, questioning her haste in entering poll fray within months after losing her husband. His remarks made sure Sumalatha win the poll with handsome margin.”

Revanna had said that he would take political sanyas if Modi-led BJP wins Lok Sabha polls. Now, he should stick to his words, the BJP MLC said.

It is sad that Deve Gowda had to end his political career on a losing note because of Revanna’s selfish politics, he lamented.

Even minister C S Puttaraju had said that he would retire from politics if Nikhil Kumaraswamy loses. So, both Revanna and Puttaraju should stay true to their words, he said.
