Bollywood and controversies have a long-standing relationship. With various celebrities coming under the scanner in cases of molestation and harassment, the story behind the glamour world seems to be pretty distorted and dark.

Recently, veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty’s son Mahaakshay was accused of rape and cheating by a woman in Delhi. She alleged that he cheated and raped her on the pretext of marriage. They were in a physical relationship for four years and he promised to marry her but later backed out. The woman also alleges that Yogita Bali, Mahaakshay’s mother, threatened her of dire consequences if she continues the relationship.

Currently, he is out on bail, is married to Madalasa Sarma and is enjoying his honeymoon.

Sooraj Pancholi

Sooraj Pancholi, son of actors Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, was charged with abetting the suicide of his girlfriend, actor Jiah Khan. The latter was found dead in her apartment by her mother in June 2013. He was later released on bail. However, in January this year, the session court framed abetment charges against the ‘Hero’ actor.

Shakti Kapoor

A sting operation by a leading media company allegedly showed Shakti Kapoor asking for sexual favours from the reporter who posed to be an aspiring actor. This casting couch controversy was another shocker for the Bollywood fraternity. However, Shakti Kapoor claimed that the video clip was doctored.

Ankit Tiwari

When playback singer and music director Ankit Tiwari was arrested for allegedly raping his ex-girlfriend in 2014, it sent shockwaves through the entire industry. The victim’s sister also filed a complaint against his brother for threatening her sister. However, both the brothers were acquitted from all charges by the Mumbai Sessions Court due to lack of evidence.

Shiney Ahuja

The actor’s career came crumbling down after he was accused of rape by his maid in 2009. In 2011, Ahuja was sentenced to seven years of imprisonment. Shiney filed an appeal in the Bombay High Court and was acquitted of charges of wrongful confinement and criminal intimidation. He was later released on bail. The case stands closed.
