Minor rescued from marriage

A minor girl was rescued from marriage by Lakkavalli police at Tarikere.

Following a complaint from child helpline, the police stopped the marriage scheduled to be held on November 11. The marriage of one Vijay from Lakkavalli was arranged with a minor girl from Shivamogga. The marriage was scheduled to be held at Sri Guru Revanasiddeshwara Mangalya Mandira in Tarikere on Sunday.

On receiving the complaint, the police swung into action and summoned the minor girl’s parents to the police station and stopped the marriage.
