JOIN USAAP says it will focus on 'aam admi'
Arvind Kejriwal and Prashant Bhushan on Monday chose the fourth anniversary of 26/11 to formally launch their Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) at Parliamentary Street and evoked patriotism, a trademark slogan of agitations led by their mentor Anna Hazare.
The AAP, which promises an egalitarian India with corruption free governance, legislative powers to Gram Sabha and Mohalla Sabha, quality education, employment and right wage and many other things which can make Indian democracy ideal one, continued with the patriotism of Anna style with songs and slogans.
The Party presented former NSG Commando Surendra Singh, who fought terror battle, as a case of government’s apathy towards martyrs and soldiers who fight for the country.
Former Navy Chief Admiral (Rtd.) Ramdass was present to honour him. Singh rejected government’s claim that he is being given proper pension and his dues has been cleared and activists targeted Minister of State for I&B Manish Tiwari for “giving wrong impression to the people and to his party bosses”.
Kejriwal, who was elected as National Convener of the fresh party on Sunday, released the constitution which speaks for a new political culture and prohibits “family rule”.
"Corrupt ministers will be tried and jailed within six months of common man’s party being voted to power, and Jan Lokpal Bill will be enacted within 15 days of the AAP coming to power,” he asserted.
"There is no end to the list of corrupt ministers and leaders in the country. All these people should be charged and sent to jail if charges against them are proved,” asserted Kejriwal.
The party declared that on the eve of its birth, offices have been opened at 200 places by the local people. They claimed that people from constituencies of political stalwarts like Sharad Pawar and Salman Khurshid has opened offices at their places. They also asserted that common man is donating small sums and it would ensure survival of the Party.
The party has been launched on November 26 as the constitution of India was adopted on this day in 1949.
Shanti Bhushan donates Rs 1 cr
Former Law Minister Shanti Bhushan on Monday donated Rs 1 crore to the newly launched ‘Aam Aadmi Party’ and said people from all walks of society will sit in Parliament after the 2014 general elections, reports PTI from New Delhi. He is also the father of Prashant Bhushan, a member of AAP.
