The Delhi Police on Wednesday arrested Aam Aadmi Party worker Ramesh Bhardwaj on Wednesday for abetting the suicide of a fellow party worker.

The woman had committed suicide on July 19 by consuming a poisonous substance at her home in outer Delhi’s Narela, and blamed Bhardwaj before her death.

Earlier, Bhardwaj was arrested and released on bail on charges of molesting her
On Wednesday, the BJP workers barged into the Delhi Secretariat premises demanding the arrest of the worker, who is said to be close to a legislator of the AAP.

The police registered a case of abetment to suicide and handed over the probe to a special investigation team (SIT).

The Narela woman had earlier filed a complaint against Bhardwaj for touching her inappropriately and a case of molestation was registered against him in June. She went into depression after Bhardwaj’s release on bail in that case, sources said.
